We pride ourselves on providing web development and design services that are second to none. And as we are a small company we can do this at a reasonable price.
Working with excellent freelance designers and developers allows us to be flexible in our approach to each job. We don’t have a large development team but instead hire good people only where necessary, producing results that respond to your needs. We use open source tools and content management systems that allow you to control the content of your website and make sure you’re not ‘locked-in’ to one developer or company once the job is done.
Transparency is a key aspect of our working philosophy. There are too many ‘cowboys’ out there making the Internet seem overly complex, and providing often terrible, overpriced services to people who don’t know any better. We are here to help with those online projects that you don’t have time to figure out yourselves and we won’t hold you over a barrel for it.
And we know not everyone is a technical genius and some are nervous when it comes to jargon on the web. That’s why we always promise support and training on every job we do.
The Tools We Use
Some of the content management systems we use regularly include: Wordpress, Magento, Habari and ModX
Development tools, frameworks and languages include: LAMP servers, PHP, Zend Framework, mySQL, XML, the jQuery UI Library, HTML5 and CSS3, SVN
Wireframing, design and branding are executed using Photoshop, Illustrator and Fireworks.
We are big fans of using AJAX and Javascript over Flash where possible however we have extensive experience using open source players like the JW Flash Player for video and audio content.
We specialise in providing usable and accessible, W3C compliant sites for companies and individuals and have also engaged in charity projects as well as more advanced e-commerce and video sites.
We are also able to provide consulting and training on design, implementation and custom development of open source technologies for any number of purposes.
All our projects are managed and documented online via our PBworks suite which tracks project scopes, changes, goals and milestones. We use Cashboard for handling of expenses, invoicing and time tracking so you can be assured that you have all the information about your project at you fingertips anywhere you are in the world.
