Intelligence Squared
Intelligence Squared is Britain’s premier debating forum, providing a unique platform for the world’s leading figures in politics, journalism, and the media. Seven years after it was founded, Intelligence Squared now operates in London, New York, Sydney, Hong Kong and Kiev.
Second Variety was commissioned to provide consultation on the overhaul of the original IQ2 website in August 2008. This work, which included extensive research of the market and commissioning the web development team, lead to a project management role overseeing the build of the new site by the development team at Squiz.Net.
We managed a team of partners on the project to build a scalable video and media platform for Intelligence Squared; working with Squiz.Net, who the supplied the MySourceMatrix Open Source CMS, Garvin Hirt’s excellent design team at FLOK in Berlin, and freelance web designer Mike Elefteriades, who built the original site and was instrumental in helping to integrate his initial site into the new design.
Having relaunched in November 09, intelligencesquared.com is now a fully interactive website containing some of the finest intellectual content on the net.
We used the Cloud to provide us with a Red5 Streaming server although the site is already getting so many page views that it looks like we will be scaling the CDN faster than expected.
The Intelligence² site is superb
